Christ Episcopal Church Preschool delivers blessing to families’ pets

Posted

Students, teachers and parents from Christ Episcopal Church Preschool came together on Wednesday, Oct. 3 to have their pets blessed by the church.

Mother Caroline and other members of the church clergy conducted the “Blessing of the Pets” event in the church’s courtyard. Also taking place that day, the preschool’s annual community service project concluded, with goods that were donated throughout the month of September presented to Carol Holland, the ministry leader for St. Francis Ministry for Animals at Christ Episcopal Church (SFMCEC). SFMCEC is devoted to the support of local nonprofits that rescue, rehabilitate and adopt homeless pets.

Local animal charities that will benefit from the school community service project include nonprofit organizations such as BEAM, First Coast No More Homeless Pets, Mission House and River City Community Animal Hospital.
