On Nov. 11, my husband Dale and I hosted a book event dinner party and Sand Castles’ 10th anniversary with Brian Kilmeade, co-host of “Fox and Friends,” with his latest book, “Teddy and Booker T., How Two American Icons Blazed the Path for Racial Equality,” at our home in Sawgrass Country Club.
The mild fall temperature made the perfect garden setting for an open-air venue for an outdoor reception on the terrace under the trees with a beautiful Florida breeze.
Kilmeade is a genuine and natural speaker and made quite a connection to all who attended. He gave a wonderful talk while guests dined under the stars, with an overview of the book and details on the history, inspiration and development of the story of these two American icons.
All who attended left with four autographed copies of the book, a copy of Sand Castles and an anniversary gift.
In addition to writing books and co-hosting “Fox and Friends” on national television, Kilmeade is the host on Saturday evenings of “One Nation with Brian Kilmeade”; has a nationally syndicated radio show, “The Brian Kilmeade Show”; and is a New York Times best-selling author.
