Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost provides complimentary food, beverages for military personnel during THE PLAYERS

The Birdies for the Brave Patriots' Outpost a hospitality tent exclusively for military members and retirees, veterans and their dependents opened at THE PLAYERS Championship on Tuesday, May 7 for the duration of the tournament.

Located adjacent to the No. 16 tee, the Patriots’ Outpost offered complimentary food and beverages, as well as a spot to cool off. The facility was financially supported by United Rentals, THE PLAYERS volunteer leadership, the Red Coats, and Jacksonville-area companies and individuals.

The opening event featured food, beverages, a $50,000 PGA TOUR donation presented by THE PLAYERS Championship Executive Director Jared Rice to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, a retirement ceremony for high-ranking military member Kenneth Ford, a presentation to K9s for Warriors members and more.

In addition to food and beverages, the Birdies for the Brave hospitality tent provided all military guests, including veterans, with a venue to watch PGA TOUR action and meet other military community members throughout tournament week.

According to THE PLAYERS, more than 19,000 military members and their families enjoyed the Birdies for the Brave Patriots' Outpost last year. The 2018 Outpost was the largest ever at a PGA TOUR tournament at over 10,000 square feet.
