Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR to host free shredding event and food drive April 21

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty (HSFNR) will hold a free, curbside shredding event and food drive on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at the company’s Mandarin/St. Johns office located at 11576 San Jose Blvd. in Jacksonville.

Community members are welcome to bring personal documents and sensitive materials, which will be securely shredded free of charge by First Coast Shredding during the event. Families may bring up to 10 boxes or bags of materials to be destroyed.

Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR is requesting everyone bring at least one non-perishable food item for every box or bag of materials to be shredded. All food donations will go to Feeding Northeast Florida, a regional food bank network.

“Identity theft and fraud are serious problems that can be avoided if you securely dispose of confidential documents and sensitive materials,” said Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR Broker/Executive Vice President Christy Budnick. “This is the perfect opportunity for us to help protect the community from the risk of identity fraud and stock our local food banks – a win-win!”

Berkshire Hathaway HSFNR’s Mandarin/St. Johns office is located on San Jose Boulevard north of Loretta Road. The office hosted its first shredding event last year and collected more than 10,000 pounds of materials from more than 350 vehicles.

“Our first shredding event a year ago was a tremendous success and we encourage everyone to visit us again this year,” Broker/Manager Christine Scalf said. “We are grateful that we can offer these important services to the community we serve.”
