Auto Show to feature vintage motorcycle display

Ponte Vedra resident John Duss is one of a handful of bike owners who will be showcasing his motorcycle as part of a vintage motorcycle display at the Ponte Vedra Auto Show, set for Monday, Sept. 9 in Nocatee.

Duss noted that the event will feature an introduction to identify the bike owners and share something unique about each motorcycle.

"We should have around 10 antiques," he said. "10 different bikes, people who have nice bikes are bringing them out, I've invited them to come."

Duss explained that there are real differences between the bikes that will be displayed at the event.

"Some of the differences are based on chronology," he said. "Some of the differences would be the origin of the particular bike on display such as British or American or Japanese. It's based on source and styling and country of origin, that sort of thing."

Of the bikes that will be displayed, Duss said there will be Triumph motorcycles, Japanese bikes and Italian bikes, among others.

Many of the owners are locals, Duss noted.

"The majority of them are coming from Northeast Florida," he said. "We have them toward Central Florida, Lake City, Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, fairly locally sourced, a good representation of collectors in Northeast Florida."

The 16th Annual Ponte Vedra Auto Show in Nocatee will be hosted by the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce and presented by Fields Auto Group. For more information, visit http://www.pvautoshow.com.
