UPDATE: Author to speak on using real life experiences in fiction

Posted

An award-winning author of eight novels, Judith Erwin is a retired attorney, former freelance writer and devotee of the arts, especially dance.

She draws on her multi-faceted experience in the legal system and the arts community to craft the plots and characters populating her work. During her 22 years in law, she came into contact with a diverse population that included criminals of all categories and kinds. These real-life people inspire the characters that make up her novels.

Erwin is proof that it’s never too late to change careers or achieve a dream. She obtained a law degree from the University of Florida at the age of 55 and released her first novel, “Shadow of Silence,” on her 75th birthday.

She will be the guest speaker Saturday, July 9, at the next meeting of Northeast Florida Sisters in Crime. It will be held at 10 a.m. at the South Mandarin Library, 12125 San Jose Blvd.
