On Sunday, April 22, the Ponte Vedra Public Education Foundation (PVPEF) will host more than 150 families for ArtWorks 2018, a celebration of exceptional student art, at the Sawgrass Marriot Golf Resort & Spa.

Now in its 35th year, the annual art show will include the works of students from Nease High School, Ponte Vedra High School, Landrum Middle School, Ocean Palms Elementary, Valley Ridge Academy and PVPV-Rawlings.

An art show that acknowledges students with both natural ability and nurtured talent, ArtWorks will feature original artwork created by students throughout the school year. Works are selected by the students’ art teachers, after which professional artists are then brought in to choose which pieces will be displayed in the show. More than 150 personalized certificates are presented at the event and gift certificates for art supplies are awarded to the top art students. One student from each school will also have their artwork chosen to be framed and displayed at their school.

PVPEF is a 501©3, all-volunteer organization with 100 percent of donations going directly to fund enrichments for the five Ponte Vedra public schools. The foundation’s mission is to enhance public education, primarily through support of the arts in the schools as well as support of educational programs that encourage creative thinking and good character.

There are several on-going programs that the PVPEF supports annually, including professional enrichment programs, teacher mini-grants, CAAP (Children’s Access to Art Program), Readers Aloud and ArtWorks. Donations to PVPEF may be mailed to: PVPEF, P.O. Box 2861, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32004.
