Annual Vilano Bridge Run to be held March 17

Posted

The 2018 Vilano Bridge Run will take place Saturday, March 17 at 8 a.m.

Now in its 22nd year, the event includes a 5K, 10K and Fun Run, providing a family experience with views of the Intracoastal Waterway, beaches and Downtown St. Augustine.  Participants in the new 10K race will wind through Camachee Island and Porpoise Point. The 1-mile family Fun Run immediately follows the start of the longer runs.

Hosted by the North Shores Improvement Association, the annual event supports important community center improvements, and this year, a portion of race proceeds will be shared with the local American Red Cross.

Runners and walkers will receive colorful race T-shirts, goodie bags, finisher medals and age group awards for top finishers. Participants and their families are encouraged to “Stay & Play” at the great after-party with music, awards, family games, prize drawings and valuable silent auction items. While participants will each receive a complimentary post-race beer, additional food and drink will be available for purchase. In addition to Title Sponsor Vinny’s Pizza, top event sponsors include Flagler Hospital, Serenata Beach Club, Dunkin’ Donuts, Wren Beach Rentals and local realtor Trudy Padilla.

Early discounted registration is now available at www.1stPlaceSports.com. Prices go up March 1 with registration available online and at 1st Place Sports stores until Mar. 16.
