The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office will hold its first active shooter training seminar at Valley Ridge Academy May 23.

SJSO has developed the seminar to provide St. Johns county residents and visitors with a response plan in the event of an active shooting situation. The sheriff's office has made an active shooter guide available on their website at www.sjso.org.

The seminar will start at 7 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited.

Another active shooter seminar will be held on June 7 at St. Augustine's Turning Point Church. According to SJSO, additional dates and locations for future seminars are to be announced.
