1954 Cadillac El Dorado won ‘Best in Show Classic’

Automobile lovers of all kinds converged upon Nocatee Town Center last year for the 2016 Ponte Vedra Auto Show.

Organized by the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Ponte Vedra Beach Division, the event featured nearly 200 classic and new cars in a variety of models. While a total of 30 trophies were awarded in various categories, the star of the show was a 1954 Cadillac El Dorado. Owned by Ed Schenk, the pristine red convertible drove away with the coveted Wells Fargo Best in Show Classic Award.

The event also had a somber note to it, as it marked the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. A special memorial tribute was made to commemorate the first responders who rushed to help and the thousands of lives lost during the tragedy.
