Learning about PV’s mosquito control district

        10-30-2014

My name is Edward George and you will see my name on your general election ballot as the non-incumbent running for Mosquito Control. One thing I’ve learned whil campaigning is that many resident in Ponte Vedra Beach are unaware that they benefit from this valuable resource that is funded by their property taxes: mosquito control services. It seems to arise in part from the name of the service provider, Anastasia Mosquito Control District (AMCD). Simply because AMCD originated on Anastasia Island and adopted the island’s name, some presume it is limited to that island. Many non-Florida ...

Cory has the education and credentials to be on the board and he will make fiscally responsible decisions. He is honest, reliable, and willing to work the long hours needed for the position. As quoted from The Historic City News, "This year’s ad valorem tax bill for mosquito control will reflect poor planning decisions, sprung on the taxpayers without warning, resulting in an approved budget increase of about $2.2 million, the majority of which is going to cover the cost to build a new ...

Ponte Vedra Beach, which is close to Jacksonville, and not much further from the oldest town in America, St. Augustine, is a place that always has half as much heart in south Georgia, which might explain why you can occasionally hear a visiting CEO from Atlanta call it "Ponte Verdie." Ponte Vedra is not a town, unless you want to count the swank Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, circa 1928 or the PGA Tour’s national headquarters or the Sawgrass Village shopping complex.
