Worthwhile to note is the amendment to the Florida Constitution regarding the universal primary.
If all candidates for office hold the same party affiliation and the winner will have no opposition in the general election, such as in the case of District 3 candidates for county commission, then all qualified voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote in the primary for that office.
According to Halyburton, all the information for the 2008 election is available on the Supervisor of Elections Web site, including links to the constitutional amendments that will appear on the November general election ballot.

• The Ron “Doc” Renuart campaign for State Representative celebrates the grand opening of its campaign headquarters with a Happy Hour on Friday, June 20, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The new headquarters is at 1054 Third St. North, in the shopping center behind Harry’s Seafood. The public is invited to attend.
